Deborah Antinori is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 35 years in private practice. She is a Brainspotting US Trainer, and a member of David Grand’s NY supervision group (developer of Brainspotting). She has been using Brainspotting since its inception, having meet Dr. Grand in a 1998 EMDR training where he was a facilitator and then became her supervisor.
As a grief therapist, Deborah holds her Fellow in Thanatology from the Association for Death Education and Counseling. She is the author of the double award-winning audiobook, Journey Through Pet Loss (Audie Award, ForeWord Book of the Year Award, silver); and authored a chapter on grief in The Power of Brainspotting: An International Anthology.
She is working on her PhD on the insula’s importance in the effectiveness of Brainspotting Therapy through the International University for Graduate Studies. Deborah is a masters graduate of NYU’s Drama Therapy Dept. Originally an actress, she earned her BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Music and is still in the professional actor’s unions, AEA and SAG/AFTRA.
